Sring has sprung!

The weather is getting warm and I think the time has come to get back to work! I spent a few hours on Sunday getting the tractor ready for sandblasting. I had to make a wood cover for where the torque tube meets the transmission and plug some inspection holes but it didn't take long. After going back and forth a few times I think I have decided to have someone sandblast the rolling frame for me. I am going to see about a price this week. Amy seems to think it would be more expensive if I did it myself (she must know me pretty well).

  2. Doug, I'm disassembling my 1953 WD45. This started with a BIG leak between the Torque case and Tranny Case. I found my flywheel has about 10 cracks radially and brake pieces are missing. Your pictures are very encouraging! Do you have a good source for the gaskets for reassembling the chassis? jeh2001@cableone.net Good luck!

  3. If you are talking about the ones on either end of the torque tube I made my own. You can by rolls of fel-pro gasket material at the auto parts store. I used the original paper ones as a template and traced them out and cut them with a razor. Actually my wife cut them she doesn't trust me with anything sharp!
